Glenn  Here is another Corpus graduate who would join the Marine Corps, train at El Centro, CA, and see service with VMO-155 in the South Pacific. Proving he had 'The Right Stuff', he would eventually gain fame as an astronaut in 1962 manning Friendship 7 in three Earth orbits. He would also serve as a U.S. Senator for the State of Ohio. In 1998 at age 77, he returned to Space on the Discovery mission.
